5th June 2009 Dear Parents, SwimmingWe have begun our summer swimming programme and look forward to many weeks of good weather!!Swimming club on a Friday afternoon is heavily subscribed so I will run two 25 minute sessions from 3.20-3.45pm (children in Yrs 1,2and 3) and 3.45 -4.10pm (children in Yrs 4,5 and 6). All children must be picked up by 4.15pm please. The club is weather dependant and if you have any concerns on the day please contact Sandra McVeigh to confirm. There will no swimming on June 12th. Classes for SeptemberI am looking forward to confirming the class structure and teaching responsibilities for September 2009 within the next few weeks.Any last Vouchers pleaseTesco vouchers - due into school by 30th June.Sainsbury vouchers - due into school by 20th July. National Walk to School WeekThank you to all those who supported our walking buses during National Walk to School Week. Fifty-seven children walked on our walking buses, with many more walking with parents and friends. Far fewer cars arrived in our car park that morning. So why not make it a regular event as a family. Our school walking bus still operates every Wednesday from the Scout Hut with the weather so warm there really no excuse!Music Tuition - SeptemberThis year children in class 5 have been learning brass instruments if any of them wish to continue please let the office know.Dates for Diary8th June - Class 6 - Residential Trip.12th June - Open Air Campaigners - Assembly. 13th June- St Andrew's 'Summer Ball' 17th June- Sherborne Area Athletics 18th June - Magdalen Trip - Class R/1. 18th June - Class 6 - Induction Day at Gryphon. 18th June - Class 6 - Parent Evening at Gryphon. 24th June - Wednesday Club - Open Day. 25th June - Gryphon - Community Volunteering Day. 29th June to 3rd July - Book Fair. 29th June - Cycle Training - more details to follow. 30th June -Darwin Day (details to follow) 1st July -Key Stage 2 sports' day. 1ST July - Wednesday Club Party. 2nd July -Key Stage 1 sports' day 3rd July - PTA Family - Bar-B-Q at 6pm. 6th July - Daniel England - Assembly. 6th July -Yr 6 performances during this week( Details to follow) 14th July - Global Express Music - Lighthouse, Poole -Trip. 14th July- Reports out to parents 15th July- School swimming gala 15th July- Report feedback consultations 16th July- Yr 6 leavers' party. 17th July - Last day of term and leavers' presentation service.
