Last weeks Summer Fair - Family Fun Day
Thankyou to all who came and enjoyed the day. Thanks to the PTA and all who helped with organising and setting up for the afternoon. Despite the windy and damp conditions there was a great buzz and plenty to do. I'm looking forward to next year's fair already.
Industrial action
Next Thursday, as you may know, is planned as a day of national industrial action by members of the teachers' unions the NUT and the ATL. St Andrew's CofE Primary will be open as usual on this day.
Sports week and Olympic visit sponsorship
As part of our sport's week and Olympic build up, we'll be holding a Superschools Challenge on July 4th. Larry Achike, a Team GB athlete and triple jumper, will be visiting us. He, along with Todd Bennett (an Olympic silver medallist, European and Commonwealth Games gold medallist), will be helping and motivating our children to take part in a national programme of physical activity. The children have been encouraged to seek sponsorship for this event to raise funds for our school and young sportspeople in Britain. There is no minimum amount and there is certainly no expectation of large amounts. The primary aim is to experience exercise as fun and enjoyable, making it part of our everyday lives.
Athletic club
Athletic club has unfortunately been cancelled for next week. Mr Higson-Guy will be joining Year 6 on their PGL adventurous activity trip.
New dates
Please check the date list below. The Year 6 show (Roald Dahl's Little Red Riding Hood) has been rescheduled for the 11th and 12th of July. Apologies if this has inconvenienced anyone.
Hot school meals
Our hot school meals continue to be a roaring success - if you would like them they cost £2.15 daily. You can buy as many or as few as you want. Please book through the office.
School uniform sale
Remember - you are able to buy items of school uniform outside of sale dates - please ask at the office.
Remember - we have fantastic early morning breakfast provision!
Angela Hole and Daphne Blakey run our welcoming and fun Breakfast Club. The price is £3 for care after 7.30am up to school opening at 8.30am, £3.50 includes breakfast. Ring school on 01935 872430 or ask Sandra or myself in the office. Also, if you are unable to book, don't worry - you can bring your child to Breakfast Club with no notice if required. Look forward to seeing you.
