Letter to parents November 21st 2011

Dear Parents / Carers,

It seems likely that the vast majority of teachers' unions will be encouraging their members to take industrial action on Wednesday 30th November as a protest against the Government's changes to pensions.

At the time of writing, the situation is not clear in terms of the numbers of staff at St Andrew's who will be available to teach on that day. Every attempt will be made to keep the school open, but given the directive that neither staff nor supply teachers can cover absent colleagues, there is a distinct possibility, in common with many schools locally and nationally, that St Andrew's Primary School will be closed as we will not have the people available to ensure that health and safety procedures can be followed.

You will, of course, be kept informed as soon as more information is received.
