End of year church service
Friday, July 22nd is the date of our end of year church service. It will be at 9.30am at St Andrew's Church. If anyone would like to join the children and staff to walk up please meet us at school at 9.00 am. Thankyou.
Year 6 show
Well done to Year 6 in their definitive performance of Roald Dahl's 'Little Red Riding Hood'. Our resident film maker, Mrs Neate-Clegg, is currently working on film versions of the performance which will soon be available to buy. DVDs of the Y6 trip to PGL will also soon be available. Details to follow.
Swimming gala
We took part in the annual Sherborne Schools' Swimming Gala yesterday where we achieved four 1sts , one 2nd and two 3rd's . Angus and Lewis won their freestyle final while Josie got a second place. Frankie and Elena won their breaststroke finals while Tom and Ethne came third in the backstroke. Well done to everybody who took part - the children competed with a great competitive spirit and, most importantly, had fun.
Staffing news
Next year we welcome 2 new members of staff to our school and welcome back Mrs Willis on a permanent basis to Ash class where she will teach alongside Mrs Halford.
Our new teachers are Melissa Lane and Mellina Wall. Mrs Lane, who will be teaching Holly class alongside Mrs Locke, has been teaching for almost 20 years and is a current deputy director of Dorset Teacher Training. She has worked at our school throughout this year. Ms Wall, who will be teaching Chestnut full time, has previously worked at Bradford Abbas and with us this year. Both teachers have become well known around the school and we give them a very warm welcome to St Andrew's CE Primary School.
Yetminster Fair
Thankyou to everyone who helped run and also take part in the dog show at the fair, and also on the Year 6 stall and on the PTA stall.
The dog show raised £99.07, which will go towards the pre-school.
Book Fair
More thanks due to all who helped with the book fair. We raised £786, of which school will receive £314. The money will be spent on resources to support literacy across the school. Thankyou for your generosity
Sport's week sponsorship
Overall we raised £1071.80, of which we receive £542.80. The rest goes towards supporting sports development for young people across the country. The money raised will go towards sport equipment and activities in the next year during the Olympic Year.
Hot school meals
Please could you ensure that the hot school meals order forms for next term are in on Monday July 18th for w/c 7th September and 12th September.
Our hot school meals continue to be a roaring success - if you would like them they cost £2.15 daily. You can buy as many or as few as you want. Please book through the office.
Remember - we have fantastic early morning breakfast provision!
Angela Hole and Daphne Blakey run our welcoming and fun Breakfast Club. The price is £3 for care after 7.30am up to school opening at 8.30am, £3.50 includes breakfast. Ring school on 01935 872430 or ask Sandra or myself in the office. Also, if you are unable to book, don't worry - you can bring your child to Breakfast Club with no notice if required. Look forward to seeing you.

Please check the dates below for end of term activities. This is as definitive as currently possible. Some dates have been changed due to the unavailability of the hall whilst some have been added due to unforeseen events.
