Dear Parents,

Staffing
As many of you will already know Mrs Jackie Pitcher is to start her maternity leave at the end of the Spring Term. Her replacement for the period of her leave is Mrs Tess O'Rourke who had such a successful term with Class 3 last summer. We look forward to welcoming such an experienced teacher to the school and send Jackie and her husband our very best wishes.

Parents Evenings.

'Early Arrivers' - a reminder

The Early Arrivers' scheme.

Pupils may arrive at school no earlier than 7.30 a.m.
Pupils arriving between 7.30 am and 8.15 am will enter the school through the main school entrance and go directly to the Hall to be greeted by supervisory staff. Parents or guardians must accompany them into school and hand them directly into the care of 'Early Arrivers' staff' who will register them.
There will be a breakfast option available at a small additional charge.
Pupils will remain under the supervision of 'Early Arrivers' staff' and will be offered a range of indoor activities including the use of the library. (Pleases note that no computer facilities will be available at this time!)

At 8.15 am all pupils will take their belongings to the cloakrooms and join other pupils arriving on the buses. (Please note that pupils, other than those on buses, should not be arriving before 8.30 am!)

A charge of £2 will be levied for each pupil arriving at any time between 7.30 and 8.15 am. Should your child require breakfast of cereal, toast and fruit juice the daily cost will be £2.50.
Parents will be billed on a fortnightly basis.

Transporting children for School Activities
Any parent or member of staff transporting children to or from an event or activity will be required to complete a form relating to the roadworthiness of their vehicle and other legal requirements. You will appreciate that this is an important next step in ensuring the well-being of all our pupils. A copy of the form can be viewed in the School Office.

Design your own Easter or Greeting Card
Dazzle your friends and relatives and delight your family whilst fundraising for your school. Forms for this have already been distributed but more information is available from school office.

Boredom Busters - Half Term week
There is a whole lot of fun to be had here at school with the Spring Half Term Holiday Activity Plan for ages from 5 to 12 years. Forms have already gone out with the children but further copies are available from the school office.

Use of the school on Tuesday evenings
Could I please remind all parents of children who attend Helen Laxton's dance sessions on Tuesday afternoon that no child is allowed to use computers within the school without the direct supervision of a member of the teaching staff. Please ensure that your children do not go to the computer suite during this time.
Should accompanying children use the outside facilities they do so without the supervision of the school and should not use school equipment. You will appreciate that this is a timely safety reminder and I appreciate your support in this matter.

School Uniform
Please make sure that school uniform is labelled clearly. Remember purchases of new uniform must now be made via our website www.standrewsyetminster.org.uk and then follow the link.
