Tesco's fun run
As part of keeping healthy, Classes R, 1 and 2 ran round the field three or more times. It was fun but very tiring!
Our visit to Carymore Environmental Centre
We enjoyed walking around the site, learning how to reduce, reuse and recycle everyday items. It was very windy and cold. Our wellies got covered in mud and clay!
The house at Carymoor uses energy from the sun and wind for its electricity.
We went inside a hut just like one that the people in the Bronze Age would have lived in. The Celts did not produce any rubbish and did not need a landfill site
When a lorry arrives at the Landfill site it gets weighed on the weighbridge to see how much rubbish it contains. We stood on the weighbridge to see how much we weighed!
Some of the rubbish can be recycled. Garden waste can be tunrned into compost.
We were surprised to learn that the Landfill site is over one hundred acres.
World Book day
We enjoyed dressing up as story characters for World Book day.
