Dear Parents,
Welcome back to a new school year. I hope you all had a great summer.
This letter is to give you a brief outline of the main areas we will be covering this term. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to come and see me.
English- stories with historical settings, recount, poetry
Maths- place value, partitioning, shape and data handling
ICT data handling and patterns
Science- keeping warm, solids and liquids
RE-How do people worship
SEAL- new beginnings, say no to bullying
Art- painting and drawing
PE- invasion games and dance
DT- money containers
History- Tudors
I will set spellings on Fridays (to be tested the following Friday). Children will generally be given one piece of written homework each week which will also be set on a Friday to be handed in by the following Thursday. This will alternate between maths and English and reinforce what we have been doing in class. There will be other pieces of homework which will always be accompanied with a letter. I am in the process of setting up a maths activity for the children which will be an online resource which we will use at school as well as being able to be used at home. I will send home details of this in the next couple of weeks.
Parent evenings will be later this term and I look forward to talking to you about your child's progress.
Please encourage your child to bring a (named) water bottle to school each day. I am happy for them to bring one pencil case to school as long as it will fit into their tray.
