Dear parents,
I hope you all had a nice Easter and were able to enjoy the recent fantastic weather.
This is the curriculum overview for this term:
•English- Stories which raise issues/dilemmas, Poetry.
•Maths- Handling data and measures, securing number facts, relationships and calculating.
•Science- Habitats.
•Humanities- The World Cup.
•RE- School Project.
•SEAL/RAINBOW- Relationships.
•Art- Austrailian Journeys
•PE- Athletics and Field Games. We are also fortunate to have a Professional Golf Coach coming into school on a Wednesday for 3 weeks in June.
•DT- Torches.
•Music- Continuation of Music For All project.
Spellings will come home with your child on a Friday to be tested the following Friday. Children will generally be given one piece of written homework each week which will also be set on a Friday to be handed in by the following Wednesday. This will usually alternate between Maths and English and will reinforce and extend what we have been learning in class. Regular home reading is also a very important part of your child's learning. Don't forget to check out the school website for links to help with homework.
We have PE on Monday and Thursday, so please ensure that children have their PE kits in school.
Please encourage your child to bring a (named) water bottle to school each day and a piece of fruit/snack for break time.
Kind Regards
Mr Higson-Guy
Chestnut Class teacher.
