March 2010.
EXCITING NEWS!
We are very pleased to announce that pre-school has managed to secure funding to make much needed improvements to our existing building.
Over the Easter break we will be having new doubled glazed windows and doors fitted to make enhancements to the pre-school environment.
Other improvements will be happening over the next few months and include: New toilets and sinks for the children, a new kitchen, new lighting, new water heaters etc. The outside of the building will also be tided up and painted. These improvements will be made with as little impact as possible to the day-to-day running of the group.
If you have any concerns or questions please speak to a member of staff.
Thank you
Mandy Vallender. (Pre-school Supervisor)

St Andrew's (Wriggle Valley) Pre-school
NEWS LETTER March 2010
The end of term is rapidly approaching and hopefully Spring is just around the corner. Please find below some dates for your diaries, some future events planned and some general information and reminders.
We have recently put up some photos on a board in preschool to show you some of what the children have been doing. Please feel free to pop in and take a look.
OUTDOORS:
The children have enjoyed using the outdoor environment again and have been very busy helping outside by planting potatoes and carrots etc. We are hopeful that over the next couple of months we can begin to make good use of the outdoor environment again and develop our own vegetable garden and have a general tidy-up of the whole outdoor area. We would like to re-cover the bark area that the children use as it is looking rather tired. If any parent/Guardian would be willing to donate any of the following items to pre-school in order to help us make improvements, we would be very grateful: Bags of compost/bark, Flower pots/troughs, large plastic storage boxes for storing shed items in, hanging baskets & brackets, packets of seeds/vegetables, tape measures, etc.
Dates for your diaries:
Week commencing 29th March is our last week of term and we will be having a few fun days in pre-school. On Mon 29th we will be having an Egg hunt and doing some cooking. Weds 31st is Eco day in school and pre-school will be making bird feeders, tidying up plant pots, talking about recycling and looking at the outdoor environment. Thurs 1st April is the last day of term. We will be doing some more cooking and having a fun day of games and singing.
BAG2SCHOOL Collection -please remember to bring your bag2school blue bags to pre-school for 9am on Weds 31st March. All proceeds go to pre-school.
Term dates 2010:
Easter Holidays-Fri 2nd April-Fri 16th April
Inset day-Mon 19th April (Preschool closed)

Please ensure you are on time when collecting your child from pre-school so as not to disrupt the next session.
Could we please ask that ALL parents/Guardians/Children remove muddy boots before entering the preschool building.
Chicken pox/Head lice-we have had a few cases of these reported recently. PLEASE check your child. Chicken pox is contagious and head lice can spread very quickly in a small environment.

Welcome to the new Wriggle Valley Pre School
After many successful years supporting pre-school education in the local community, the Wriggle Valley Pre School closed on 31st March 2008 only to be replaced immediately by the new St Andrew's( Wriggle Valley Pre School) under the management of the school.
The governors are working to prepare the way for a new Foundation Stage unit based within St Andrew's Primary School.
This exciting venture will secure high class early years education for those aged between 2yrs 9months and 5 yrs between 7.30am and 3.15 pm and will be complimented by after-school and holiday care provided by Lower Covey Nursery in partnership with the school.

Parents interested in applying for admission to the Pre School should do so by contacting the School Office or Mandy Valender at the Pre School on 01935 873830 to arrange a visit and receive or download the appropriate form. All applications will be considered with reference the set 'maximum intake number' and the admission policy of the school.
The school is embarking upon a building project which will see the children within the unit housed in an extended and purpose built facility for September 2010.
We look forward to your visit and welcoming your child to the school. |
