AFRICAN ARTS WEEK MOSAIC |
) Class 4 made a start on the mosaic doing .. |
) ..a leopard, ostich.. |
) ..and hippo. |
) I am glad I've got small fingers/ |
) Class 5 had the challenge of making the shield, .. |
) ..and the drum, which did look a bit like .. |
) ..a burger.. |
) ..but it had some lovely colours in it.. |
) ..and was fun to make |
) The shield had some exotic tiles - |
) small and large millefiori.. |
) ..with a spine of real gold on glass. |
) There the last tile in the drum. |
) Class 1 did the lion which had some gorgeous hot colours in it.. |
) ..reds, oranges, yellows.. |
) ..shall I put this bit here or here? |
) We placed the tiles onto the sticky side.. |
) ..of sticky back plastic placed on the design. |
) Class 6 had the African lady and her baby to do.. |
) ..and used special black glass nuggets, upsidedown.. |
) ..because we are using the indirect method. |
) They also did the roof of hut.. |
) ..which was surprisingly difficult. |
) All the animals 9and human) will be flipped onto a board. |
) The lion will have a black ceramic nose |
) The finished drum ( not a double decker sandwich). |
) The gold line shows blue on this side. |
) Our lady has a Kenti patterned dress and a red scarf to carry her baby in. |
) Reception made this excellent zebra which will have a clay fringe, ears, nose and tail. |
) The Hut roof has a mask hanging on it.. |
) ..which looks great. |
) Class 4's leopard has brown glas beads for his spots. |
) Class 1 had the giraffe to make using beige, brown and orange glass nuggets.. |
) ..which add a differnt texture. |
