Un lion à Londres par les étudiants de la classe Willow

A part of the transition in French for our year 6 children in Willow Class up to the Gryphon School, Sherborne, the children prepared a book with illustrations called un lion à Londres based on the beautifully illustrated book un lion à Paris by Beatrice Alemagna.

Our French Day June 2010

We had an incroyable French Day which started with a very French petit dejeuner, croissant, pain au chocolat, brioche, crepes et la confiture and hot chocolate and jus d'orange. We spent the day doing French activities, playing games and creating art inspired by French artists Seurat and Delaunay.
Our thanks to all our helpers and providers of our French cuisine. It was much appreciated

CLASS 5 and 6 have been making voki

We have been making our own voki using our own words written in French and then recorded using a French voice. It really helps with our written French and our prounciation
What is Voki?
Voki enables users to express themselves on the web in their own voice using a talking character. You can customize your Voki to look like you or take on the identity of lots of other types of characters… animals, monsters, anime etc. Your Voki can speak with your own voice which is added via microphone, upload, or phone.
What's with the name?
Voki is a combination of "vox", which is Latin for voice, and "Loki", which, is a prankster character in Norse Mythology.

FRENCH IN ST ANDREWS

French has been taught at St Andrews for the last 12 years and has certainly boosted our children's confidence in languages when they go up to secondary school.

Nous apprenons à créer le dessin-modèle dans le modèle de l'artiste français, Robert Delaunay.

This term Class 5 and 6 looked at the work of the French artist Robert Delaunay. He was a pioneer of abstract art in the early 20th century creating his own style called "Orphism". He concentrated on circular forms and bright colours. Appréciez nos régals visuels! Enjoy our visual feasts.
