Are we witches with our blue spit?

No, we have been learning how to look after and clean our teeth and mouths properly. We were lucky enough to have a visit by Daphne Barfoot who is a hygienist in a Yeovil Dental practice. She showed us how to clean our teeth in a circular motion for a full 2 minutes. She also told us about how much hidden sugar can be in food like baked beans. We then cleaned our teeth and used discosing tablets to see how we can clean more effectively. Hence the blue spit.

Rockets!!!

Wow did we have fun launching rockets using pneumatics and chemical mixtures of vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and mentos and diet coke. Have a look at the videos of our fun.

Sundials in Year 3 Science

Oak Class's Shadow cabinet

We are learning about how shadows are formed and how they change size and shape during the day due to the earth's rotation.. We looked at the shadows at the beginning of the day and tried to compare them with those at lunchtime. However the good old English summer provided us with clouds which we discovered stopped shadows forming. Click on our shadows to see our slideshow.
