AFRICAN ARTS WEEK - other exciting artwork We have been learning about all the different countries that make up Africa and have based our art work on what we have found out.
AFRICAN ARTS WEEK - BATIK ART In the run up to our exciting African Arts Week we have been making batik African animals using flour paste as the resist and fabric dyes. Enjoy looking at them.
OPPOSITES We have been looking at opposites
Working with students and parents. The children really benefit from working with teacher trainee students and students from local colleges and schools who are on a variety of Early Years courses.
Links with our pre-school. World Book day.
Assemblies In our SEALS assembly we talked about what we would like to be when we are older. Can you spot the firefighter and the Harry Potter star?

Reading in the Reception class Children select a Free Choice book from our class library to share with their family at home.
Small world play. We are very good at re-telling favourite stories and making up our own.
Reading. We are very lucky to have lots of helpers who make sure we are all able to read simple books by the end of the year.
I.C.T We use a range of I.C.T equipment.
The children have decided on their own class rules. Keeping healthy is really important in our class.
Role play. The children help plan and make their role play area.
Role play in our outdoor classroom. Here we are pretending to be Robot Red from Letterland.
School trips The Magdalen Project.
Our outside classroom. We help to plant and look after flowers and vegetables.
Our outside classroom. Exploring capacity.
Cutting and sticking. We are always busy in the Reception class.
Independent reading and writing. We love reading and writing in our class.
