The children take home a Sound book where sounds covered in class are gradually introduced.

They also bring home a High Frequency word book.Some of these words can be sounded out. e.g c/ a/ t/=cat

The children bring home a Shared book to develop their pre reading skills. e.g memorising the text.

When they recognise about 10 letter sounds in a range of contexts they start on our Reading scheme.
