St. Andrew's C.E. V.C. Primary School
18th October 2005
Dear Parents,
INSET DAY - Monday 31st October
The above date is a staff training day and the children will return to school on Tuesday 1st November after half term.Attendance
With immediate effect, we will be following up any unexplained absence with a phone call to parents to ensure the very highest level of safety for all our children. Please do all that you can to help us in this important activity.Parents should call the school by 8.45am to report an absence. (Please leave a message if the secretary is unavailable.)
Following the collection of registers at 9.00 am, Mrs McVeigh will call if there is an unexplained absence.
Help us keep our children safe.
Helping Hand
The P.T.A. have put together a Helping Hand to support the Victorian Christmas Fayre in school on Friday 25th November. Your support will go towards making it a huge success.Rumours are that the Christmas Grotto will be the best ever this year as its Gary Sturgess last year on the P.T.A. so all the stops are out!
School Uniform
I am always pleased to see the children dressed so smartly in their school uniform and take this opportunity to remind you of two points. It is very important that appropriate footwear is worn in school. It is preferable that trainers are not worn during the school day but used for specific sporting activity, during and after the school day. Should parents wish their children to wear trainers to school then I would ask for a second pair of sports trainers/gym shoes to be available for the sporting activities.
School sweatshirts or fleeces are worn by the large majority of our children and as the weather gets colder I would ask parents to consider coats and hats rather than hooded jackets.
Thank you for your on-going support in this matter.
