Governor Newsletter
October 2010
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that you will by now have seen the new 'Meet the Governors' section on the website and our photographs in the entrance hall of the school.
Some of our governors are well-known to you and have served the school well for a long time. Others, like myself, are relatively new to both village and school. All of us are here because we wish to support the Head in building a school which is the right environment for your child to grow and learn. I hope we can all work together to make this happen.
Parent Meetings
In order that you can get to know me a little better and have an opportunity to talk to me if you wish, I shall be in school for both Parents' Evenings on November 3rd and 10th between 4pm and 5pm and also on December 6th between 3pm and 4pm. Please come and talk to me about the school if you would like to. If this idea seems to be useful to you, I will make further dates available during the other two terms.
Parent Questionnaires
As governors, we all need to know what you as parents think about the school. In consultation with the Head and staff, we have therefore prepared a questionnaire to be distributed and if possible completed during Parents' Evenings .A copy will be posted on the school website in advance. Please take time to fill these in as we value your contributions. The completed forms will be analysed, shared with the school and a response given to you by the end of the Autumn Term.
Home/School Agreement
This document sets out, in separate sections, the responsibilities of school, parents and carers, pupils and governors and the school is required by law to have one. It does however underline our belief that all of us in our different capacities support the way the school works. You will be receiving your copy later this week.
I will post a governors' newsletter on the website when there is something new to report but I am happy to hear from you at any time.
