Dear Parents,

The Asian Tsunami Appeal

We were delighted with the response to the Appeal and are very impressed with how well the children responded in such a positive way by doing so many varied jobs at home.

Range of tasks undertaken were:

-Tidying bedrooms (major task).
-Removing pine needles from carpet (tricky task).
-Doing homework (always).
-Wrote a book and sold it to family members / baked and sold fairy cakes (entrepreneurial).
-Mucking out calves pen /pony / guinea pigs / chickens (smelly).
-Painting scenery for the local panto (artistic).
-Clearing away huge pile of rotten apples in garden (slushy).
-Making dad's sandwiches (tuna) and washing his car (Ferrari).
-Helping mum do her work!
-Walking puppy round the block (healthy)
-Helping out with a new baby brother (cute).

Well done everyone as all this hard work meant we raised £590.00 for this appeal.

School Council

The school council is now up and running. The first meeting took place on Wednesday 26th January and involved two elected members from each class. All these children have a 'School Council'badge and will remain members for a time before others are offered the opportunity. We are hopeful that this representative group will be a great success.

A special mention should be given to Annabel Thornton for her excellent logo. Chosen from the submitted entries, this logo will now sit proudly atop our new School Council noticeboard and, of course, on the School Council page of our website www.standrewsyatminster.org.uk

School Nurse

The School nurse is offering a 'Drop in'service for anyone who may need to discuss any aspect of your child's health or well being. Wendy Mather will be here at 9.30am on Monday 21st March. Please let Mrs McVeigh know in advance should you wish to attend.
