27th November 2009

Dear Parents,

Screen Display

In the main foyer at school we now have a flat screen displaying photographs and news about our school.
Please have a look when you're next in.

Christmas Plays 8th,9th 10th December.

Oliver

Willow and Ash classes will be performing on Tuesday 8th December (CAST A) and Thursday 10th December (CAST B) at 6.45pm

Dancing Christmas Party

Acorn, Holly, Oak and Chestnut classes will be performing on Wednesday 9th December at 6.45pm and on Thursday 10th December at 1.15pm
Please complete and return the attached slip by Wednesday 2nd December. As we can only seat 120, we will have to limit the number of seats for any performance to a total of two per family. Additional seats may be allocated when we know how many wish to attend. We would ask you not to bring very young children to the performances. When not on stage, the children will be looked after in the classrooms.
I would be grateful if you would ensure that the children to arrive no earlier than 6.15pm on the evenings of any performance. I
Admission is by programme. These will be free of charge. Donations to the collection plate will be used towards the cost of the productions. Coffee and other refreshments will be served either between, or following the performances by members of the PTA, who will also be running a raffle. You will be contacted by class teachers regarding help required with costumes.
In previous years I have spoken to all parents regarding concerns over the taking of still or video images. To this end I would be grateful if you would contact me if you do not want your child photographed as part of a group performance. No i photographs of individuals will be taken.

Reception - lunches

We will be delighted to welcome our Reception children to lunch and afternoon school on Friday 11th December for the production of Beauty & the Beast and on Friday 18th December for the Christmas Party lunch. Parents must confirm with school office if their child is to travel home from school on the bus.

Christmas Lunch - 18th December

The school party takes on the form of a party lunch followed by entertainment in the afternoon. All staff and children have lunch together and the school provides the food so there is no need to send your child with a packed lunch meal. Reception children, who are normally morning only, are also invited to stay for lunch and for the rest of the afternoon (Please see above).
We would appreciate a donation of £2.00 per child towards the cost of the lunch and entertainment. (Please place the money in an envelope with the child's name and return to the school)
DON'T FORGET PARTY CLOTHES SO THAT YOU CAN CHANGE AFTER THE CHURCH SERVICE!

Year 6 Carol Singing

On Monday 14th December, all Year 6 pupils are invited to join in together to sing carols in Yetminster to raise money for their favourite charity. Parents of the pupils are also warmly invited and we look forward to a great evening. All singers should meet at school at 6.30pm. Pick up time 8.00pm following soup and mince pies will be from the Barfoot's opposite the Rectory.
This group will also be singing carols at Old Vicarage in Leigh on the morning of 11th December. A coach has been arranged to transport the class and I know that the elderly residents are really looking forward to the visit of the children.

Post Box - 7th December

Children will be able to post Christmas cards to friends from Monday 7th December. These will be delivered during the last week of term.

Please Note

Several children are regularly arriving late at school during our 'Wake and Shake' session. This activity is part of the school day and I remind everyone, therefore, to arrive in good time for 8.45am (start of the school day) and that all children with the exception of Mrs Payne's class should go directly to the playground at this time unless there is inclement weather.

Coats

Please make sure you bring a coat to school everyday. The days are getting colder!
