What's all this rights stuff about?

UNCRC stands for the United Nations convention on the rights of the child. It's a list of rights that all children, everywhere in the world, have. The rights on the list are all the things that children and young people need to make sure they are healthy, happy and safe. There are 54 articles on the list, and 42 of these are rights for children (the others are about how adults and governments should work together to make sure all children get all their rights).

The Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of a school's planning, policies, practice and ethos. A rights-respecting school not only teaches about children's rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: between teachers / adults and pupils, between adults and between pupils.
It's a list of rights that all children, everywhere.
